Badal Mahal

Situated atop the highest point on the Kumbhalgarh Fort, this two-story palace built by the 19th century Mewar ruler Rana Fateh Singh is a magnificent warrior fort. It is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Kumbhalgarh because of the alluring wall paintings, the intricate stone jails, or stonework where the queens used to witness the court’s proceedings.

Mammadev Temple

Built-in the year 1460, the Temple of Mammadev is known for its beautiful interiors, intricate sculptures, and architecture. It is one of the remarkable places to visit in Kumbhalgarh because of the cenotaphs erected in memory of Prithviraj Chauhan, and the Kumbhalgarh’s Raja Kumbha. Four massive blocks within the temple have inscriptions of the Mewar clan’s heritage and history.

Neelkanth Mahadeo Temple

Famous for its six –feet high monolith shivling made from a single kasoti stone in black, the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is one of the most interesting places to visit in Kumbhalgarh. That is because various chambers of the temple will keep you lost in time and mesmerized. It was built in the year 1458 and later the sixteenth-century King Rana Sanga renovated it.

Vedi Temple

Situated within Kumbhalgarh Fort’s premises in Hanuman Pol, the Vedi Temple is one of the most revered places to visit in Kumbhalgarh. It is dedicated to Goddess Vedi and has a unique octagonal shape. You will be amazed to see the architecture of the temple as it stands on the 36 pillars that Rana Kumbha built in the honor of the sacrifices done by the pilgrims. Later, Maharana Fateh Singh renovated it and to date, it remains one of the sacrificial sites in the country.

Parshuram Temple

The resplendent Parshuram Temple is a cave temple located in picturesque Aravalli hills and this is a site that you cannot miss when you go to Kumbhalgarh sightseeing. Legend has it that Parshuram himself built using his ax to cut the rock. It takes 500 steps to reach the temple and there are nine “kunds” near the temple that never go dry. It has the figures of Lord Shiva and Ganesh, made naturally. Every year, on Saptami and Shravan Shukla Shashti a big fair is hosted here.

Ranakpur

Tucked away in the remote Aravalli range’s valley Ranakpur is one of the notable places to visit near Kumbhalgarh. This serene village is one of the pious places for the Jain community. The place has a very calm atmosphere and some of the most spectacular Jain temples, done in amber. These temples bear resemblance to the Khajuraho temple and are well renowned for their amorous carvings.
